Healthcare Caterers International

iEntree.com - First ever international job portal for food service professionals in healthcare launched in association with HCI

April 2005, HCI Headquarters, St. Charles, Illinois:

iEntree, the world's first international job portal specifically tailored to meet the needs of the healthcare foodservice/catering industry, was unveiled recently with the full support and backing of Healthcare Caterers International (HCI), the growing global network of healthcare catering associations.

Accessed directly at www.iEntree.com, within www.hciglobal.org, or through each HCI member association's site, iEntree's objective is simple - to become the definitive, targeted website that joins employers and job seekers in the global healthcare foodservice/catering industry.

iEntree already has direct access to over 21,000 individual HCI members across the US, the UK, Canada and Australia. This number of qualified professionals is growing daily, providing an unrivaled platform from which healthcare foodservice organisations, companies, and institutions can recruit.

Designed with the user in mind, iEntree allows employers and job seekers to match their needs automatically. Job seekers simply post their details on the site and specify their preferred geographical area of work. In turn, employers post their vacancies, and the details are then matched with suited job seekers.

The site's automated match-up feature then notifies each of the interested job seekers with suitable positions and provides them with the opportunity to communicate directly with the employer.

iEntree's services are free of any cost to HCI member individuals looking for a new position or a 'move in the right direction'. The cost for employers wishing to advertise their vacancies has been carefully controlled, ensuring that the service competes favorably with all other recruitment options.

In addition to advertising a vacancy, employers, who have complete and immediate administrative control of job postings, are given access to the complete resume database within the site. Company profiles can also be added, giving employers the opportunity to promote their organisations to potential applicants.

Background Information:

Healthcare Caterers International was formed in July 2004, when senior representatives and Chairpersons from six major national healthcare catering associations met and agreed to become active members. The six founding member organisations are:

  • Canadian Society of Nutrition Management, Canada.
  • Dietary Managers Association, USA.
  • Hospital Caterers Association, UK.
  • Institute of Hospitality in Healthcare Limited, Australia
  • Meals On Wheels Association of America, USA.
  • National Association of Care Catering, UK.

Currently, HCI is chaired by Colleen Zenk (a former Chair of DMA, USA), vice-chaired by Alison McCree (current Chair of the Hospital Caterers Association, UK) and administered by William St. John (current CEO of DMA) as Executive Officer. Each founding organisation is represented on the board by its respective national representative or President. Additionally, HCI plans to expand its presence around the globe, via invitation to associations similar to current members and to assist in the establishment of such groups in regions where they currently do not exist.
